Starlink installed in all 14 Districts to support fast data collection and health sector digitalization.

In a critical effort to strengthen Sierra Leone’s emergency response capacity, World-Link Communications Sierra Leone, in partnership with the Government of Sierra Leone through the National Public Health Agency, successfully completed the installation of Starlink satellite internet systems in all 14 districts of the country—within just 48 hours.

This rapid deployment was part of the national Mpox emergency operation and was carried out by trained and certified World-Link technicians, led by experienced team leads. The installations were strategically positioned at District Health Management Teams (DHMTs) to enable real-time data collection, faster information sharing, and improved coordination during the outbreak response.

Enabling Real-Time Data in Emergency Situations

Prior to this initiative, many health districts faced limitations in accessing fast and reliable internet, which often delayed data reporting and decision-making. By equipping DHMTs with Starlink’s high-speed, low-latency satellite internet, World-Link has helped bridge the digital gap—giving frontline health workers the tools they need to collect, process, and report critical data more efficiently.

The rollout not only supported the immediate Mpox containment strategy but also contributed to building long-term digital resilience in Sierra Leone’s public health infrastructure.

A Step Toward Digital Transformation in Healthcare

This operation complements the government’s broader commitment to digitalize the health sector—moving beyond traditional, manual systems of information gathering to technology-driven solutions that are faster, more accurate, and scalable. With internet connectivity now available in all districts, future health responses, surveillance activities, and inter-agency coordination can be significantly enhanced.

The partnership between World-Link Communications Sierra Leone and the National Public Health Agency is a model of how private sector expertise and government leadership can work together to deliver real, measurable impact on the ground.

Our Commitment to National Development

At World-Link, we believe that connectivity is more than a service—it’s a lifeline. Whether responding to health emergencies or enabling education, commerce, and governance, our mission is to connect people and systems in ways that create lasting value.

This successful nationwide Starlink deployment is a testament to our team’s speed, professionalism, and dedication to supporting national development goals through technology and innovation.
